The first departure from Euro 2012 has been determined… the Republic of Ireland’s game Monday against Italy will be their last at the tournament. The other Group D teams (Spain, Croatia and Italy) will be playing for survival on Matchday 3.

Matchday 2 in Group D goes Friday with Sweden taking on France and England taking on co-host Ukraine. Enjoy the games!

Important note:

I haven’t included standings here as with this update I have not made any attempt to account for standings ties. Dealing with ties in the groups is a spreadsheet programming challenge that I haven’t been able to solve with the time available to me. I have simply applied the UEFA coefficient tiebreaker in Groups D. So, please take the standings shown on the PDF with a grain of salt.
