UEFA Champions League Prediction Challenge! Rules

UEFA Champions League:  An Introduction

The UEFA Champions League consists of the top 32 European club teams competing for the European Cup. After qualifying games are played in July and August, the Champions League group stage begins in September and runs through May.

The competition is open to each national association’s domestic champions, as well as
clubs who finish just behind them in the domestic championship table. The number of clubs that can be entered by an association and their entry point in the competition depends on the association’s position in UEFA’s coefficient ranking list, i.e. stronger football nations like
Spain, France, England, Germany, etc. are able to enter as many as four clubs.

Tournament Format, and how we play the Prediction game

There are eight groups of four clubs each, with the top two clubs qualifying for home-and-home knockout play. Each club plays each other twice in the group stage, for a total of six games.

Your job, in the group stage, is to pick the finishing order of each group. Your score will be based on how close you are to predicting the correct order and also whether you chose the correct two clubs to qualify for the next round.

In subsequent rounds, your task will be to pick the winning team and the number of goals that will be scored by both teams in each matchup.
