The European Championship is well under way! Daily updates will begin once all 24 teams have played a game.

Below is a summary of our predictions of finishing order in each group. Some things to watch for:

  • All 24 teams were chosen as possibly advancing to the Round of 16, either by finishing top-2 in their group or as a wild card qualifier.
  • 21 of the 24 teams were chosen as direct qualifiers for the Round of 16 (only Albania, Romania, Northern Ireland received no support for finishing first or second in their group)
  • Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Iceland and Austria all received support for finishing anywhere in their group from first to last.
  • Group A will only matter in that 12 of us picked Romania to finish ahead of Albania, while 5 players think Albania will edge them out.
  • Group E begins play on Monday, and it looks to be the most hotly contested group, with Belgium and Italy splitting the choices for finishing atop the group.
  • Sweden is our favourite choice for advancing as a third-place team, with no fewer than 10 players choosing them.
